What Is Involved In A Boiler Service?

It is important that your boiler service is undertaken by a suitable qualified Gas Safe and OFTEC (oil) accredited engineer. It is a legal requirement for landlords to undertake a gas safety compliance check on a yearly basis. Although this is not a requirement for private homeowners, it is advisable that you book an annual gas safety check in order to maintain your boiler’s warranty

Combi Boilers

What Is A Combi Boiler?

Combi boilers are probably the most cost-effective residential boiler for most homes. They control both hot water and central heating, and their energy efficiency makes them the unit of choice for environmentally-conscious homeowners. Heating water directly from the mains and whenever a tap is turned on, you can get unlimited hot water whenever you need it. There’s no need for a cylinder or water tank, saving you space in your home and cutting down the installation time

System Boilers

What Is A System Boiler?

If your home has more than one bathroom, a system boiler could be the perfect option. They require a hot water storage cylinder, but not a water tank, and because many of the main components are actually built into the system, your boiler installation will be relatively quick and painless. Both the pump and the expansion vessel are inbuilt, eliminating the need for header tanks. As there’s no need for a tank, a system boiler frees homeowners from worrying about frost damage or leaks, while it also makes them much easier to maintain. For larger homes with multiple bathrooms, particularly if there’s no space for a tank, system boilers are a great choice.

Condensing Boilers

What Is A Condensing Boiler?

Condensing boilers are far more efficient than non-condensing boilers, with newer models able to reach over 90% efficiency. Non-condensing boilers are only able to achieve between 70-80% efficiency.

As a result, condensing boilers are much more cost-effective and can save a homeowner hundreds of pounds in heating bills each year. By burning less units of fuel and reducing a home’s carbon emissions the condensing boiler is also a greener option.

Boiler Upgrades

Modern boilers are more efficient than older boilers for several reasons, but their main advantage is that they are ‘condensing’. A condensing boiler recovers more heat from the exhaust flue gas and uses it to heat the central heating water, making it more efficient than older boilers.

Our experienced Installation Teams will guide you through the process of choosing a new boiler to installing and setup. There are many types of boilers available so it is important to speak to a qualified advisor before selecting a particular type of system. For more information, please click the link below
